If they do go through with the payment and purchase, you could try getting an original 2nd hand Blaubunkt 2008 update 2 or higher disc from eBay which would probably solve your problem the easiest way but they are not always being advertised. If they pull out and don't pay, it's yours for the same price as I sold it. Ironically I've just sold my 2008 update 2 DVD on eBAY this morning but they have not paid by paypal yet. Get a 2008 update 2 or higher DVD off eBAY. Attempt downgrade to SP5 or SP5.1 and see if you can re-use the 2007 / 2014 discs (never tried it, could be some risk with this but I suspect it would be fine) If that works, you could then do what I said, which is make sure you insert the 2007 CD in first immediately after 5.3 update and do not insert the 2014 dvd in until the 2007 works perfectly with SP5.3 2. There are a lot of reports suggesting only 2009 discs upwards are compatible but perhaps it's 2008 Update 2 DVD's upwards. I wonder if 5.3 is not compatible with the NAV_Software on your 2007 disc. We're clearly not comparing apples with apples here so that might explain it.
I know you have the DVD code as you will have been using this recently. Make sure you have the various audio codes of course. Mine says N0967VF_6.4C1P22 Something else you can try is disconnecting the battery and reconnecting. This isn't good and explains why it's crashing. The NAV_VER_SW is unknown on your unit at the moment according to your picture. The problem I think is the navigation device registration with a geniune DVD. Can you take a picture of the front of 2008 Maps DVD please? Are you 100% sure the disc has been isn't damaged or is dirty. There is a link to SP5, 5.1 and 5.3 firmware here. We need the geniune DVD to complete the process of upgrade before using the new TomTom DVD. We might need to consider a downgrade to repeat the process of upgrade back to 5.3 but without using the 2014 TomTom DVD straight after. This could explain why you are perhaps finding what I am saying a bit confusing? I am suspecting you didn't upgrade to 5.3 yourself? Otherwise you would have created this CD and have it handy.
